This article by Laura Robinson Navy appeared in the "Dorchester News" on June 8, 1977. In addition to nicely summarizing the history of the island, Mrs. Navy's article gives a valuable snapshot of the culture of Taylors Island during the time period when she grew up.   Personal articles like this one allow the reader to visualize life in a by-gone era.
