John "Pat" Neild, Jr. supplied the photo below. The handwriting on the rear of the photo indicates "Store at Ferry Point Taylors Island. Wlm. E. Keene kept the store here around 1900-1905. Probably built by John Crockett Travers". The ferry actually landed at the point of the island just to the right side of the bridge as you come onto the island.
Below is a 1938 photo of Will E. Keene on Taylors Island with his pet hen -"fly". Mr, Keene was born in 1857. This photo is courtesty of Carol Maurer She found the photo with letters belonging to her great aunt Annita Applegarth France.
